On June 7th, 2016, with the invitation of Prof. Zigang Li, Prof. Dehua Pei from Ohio State University visited our school and gave us a lecture titled “Drug the undruggable targets with cyclic peptides”.
   
Prof. Dehua Pei focuses on targeting intracellular protein-protein interactions involving the development of high-throughput screening of macrocyclic peptides for protein-protein interaction inhibitors. On the other hand they discovered a small cyclic peptide with exceptionally cellular entry and they studied its mechanism and applied the transporter to deliver small molecules, peptides, proteins into cells.
 
Introduction：
Dehua Pei obtained his B.S. Degree in Chemistry from Wuhan University, China in 1986 and his Ph.D. Degree in Organic Chemistry from University of California, Berkeley in 1991, working under the direction of Peter G. Schultz. After a postdoctoral stint with Christopher T. Walsh at Harvard Medical School, he joined the faculty at OSU in 1995 as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor of Chemistry in 2001 and Professor of Chemistry in 2004.
