"Pluripotent Stem Cell Protein Sox2 Confers Sensitivity towards LSD1 Inhibition in Cancer Cells", has been accepted by Cell Reports, a premier Cell family journal (Nature, Cell and Science are the premier journals in Biochemistry and Biomedical research).

This manuscript describes our finding that LSD1 inhibitors, which act as a novel class of epigenetic histone demethylase inhibitors, selectively target a large fraction of epidermal cancers of (squamous cell carcinomas) lung, breast, ovarian carcinomas and other cancers that express stem cell protein Sox2. These cancers are considered to be caused by the repeated divisions of cancer stem cells in the epidermis so our compounds present a breakthrough in cancer therapy because there are so far no selective drugs that specifically and selectively target these key cancer cells, which cause the drug resistance, metastasis and recurring cancers. Our publication may thus fundamentally change the strategy by which cancers are treated.
