On October 15, 2013 in the afternoon, with Prof. Olaf Wiest’s invitation,Prof. Per-Ola Norrby, from Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Gothenburg, gave us a great academic report in E104。
Prof. Per-Ola Norrby is a very good computing chemists in the world. The title of his report is “Computational Prediction in Asymmetric Catalysis”. Firstly, Prof. Per-Ola Norrby introduced the advantages of Transition State Force Field(TSFF)for designing ligands of asymmetric reactions and how to get the force constants of TSFF. Nextly, he introduced application of the TSFF to three important asymmetric reactions. Finally, Prof. Per-Ola Norrby discussed with us actively to let us know the importance of computational prediction in asymmetric catalysis.
